When Waiving a Player

When a player is not exempt from waivers, he must pass waivers before being sent down to the minors. This is a good way for the less talented teams to get some players who do not make the team on a higher ranked team. It will cost you 50 000 dollars to claim someone from waivers.

Waiver rules:

-All players 21 and under are not subjected to waivers
-Players aged 21 are subjected to waivers if they have played over 125 career games.
-Players aged 22 are subjected to waivers if they have played over 100 career games
-Players aged 23 are subjected to waivers if they have played over 70 career games
-Players aged 24 are subjected to waivers if they have played over 50 career games
-All players over 24 are subjected to waivers regardless of games played.

When a player is placed on the waiver wire, they remain there for exactly 24 hours. During that period, any amount of teams may place a claim for the player. After the 24 hours is up, the team with the least amount of points in the standings that placed a claim takes on the player and their full contract. Throughout May to October, the priority of claims is based off the last season's final standings.
If the 24 hours expires and no team has placed a claim, he will be free to be sent to the AHL and called back up for a period of 30 days. After that, he must be sent through waivers again.
Each team may only place one claim in total every 24 hours.
